Procon Pacific, a global FIBC sourcing and procurement consulting company, traces its roots back to 2004 when it was established to address a critical void in the FIBC market. As time progressed, the company extended its services, becoming a reliable consulting partner to a diverse array of multinational clients, further solidifying its standing in the industry. The Project
Procon Pacific shifted almost all their production of FIBC bags from China to India a few years ago in response to the trade war between China and the USA. This move was a direct response to the trade tensions between China and the USA, aimed at mitigating supply chain vulnerabilities linked to geopolitical factors.
The challenges of shifting production were related to collaborating with professional and reliable manufacturers while maintaining the same level of product quality as they had achieved previously. To achieve this, they sought quality control support throughout their vendor network.
Pro QC, having previously been Procon Pacific’s quality control partner in China, was approached for the transition to India.
The Solutions
Our team collaborated with Procon Pacific to create a custom quality control program tailored to the unique needs of their projects. This program also addressed the challenges of manufacturing in India and managing multiple suppliers. Additionally, we developed a specialized inspection checklist.
A – Supplier Audits
We began with factory audits to assess supplier reliability, validate their qualifications, and identify any nonconformities that might adversely affect product quality.
The audits included:
- Supplier verification to ascertain the legitimacy of potential vendors, assess their risk levels, and gain an overview of their qualifications.
- Social compliance, in line with SA8000 and ISO 26000, underscoring Procon Pacific’s commitment to ensuring social accountability within their supply chain and guaranteeing fair treatment of workers in compliance with the law.
- Manufacturing Process Audits to evaluate the specific production line used for their products and pinpoint any red flags that might compromise quality performance.
B- Quality Inspections
Subsequently, Pro QC assigned two quality engineers dedicated solely to inspections for Procon Pacific in Gujarat and Maharashtra. Every production batch is meticulously inspected by our team to detect any defects that might affect Procon Pacific, ensuring all concerns are addressed before shipping with pre-shipment inspections.
