{"id":1585,"date":"2016-05-24T19:03:10","date_gmt":"2016-05-24T19:03:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/proqc.com\/blog\/?p=1585"},"modified":"2024-11-14T11:37:10","modified_gmt":"2024-11-14T11:37:10","slug":"world-trade-month-wrap-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/proqc.com\/blog\/world-trade-month-wrap-up\/","title":{"rendered":"World Trade Month Wrap-Up"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>World Trade Month is observed each year in May. &nbsp;The objective of this recognition is to create awareness, identify trends and drive market opportunities.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/wits.worldbank.org\/CountryProfile\/en\/Country\/WLD\/Year\/2014\/TradeFlow\/Import\/Partner\/WLD\/Product\/All-Groups\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow noindex\">World Integrated Trade Solutions<\/a> offers extensive data related to world trade. &nbsp;The same site offers interesting <a href=\"http:\/\/wits.worldbank.org\/trade-visualization.aspx?lang=en\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow noindex\">visualization options<\/a>&nbsp;such as the word cloud referenced below.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-1593 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/proqc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Untitled-2-1024x453-1.webp\" alt=\"Untitled\" width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<p>In a 2015 ranking of the top 20 export countries worldwide via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/264623\/leading-export-countries-worldwide\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow noindex\"> Statista<\/a>, China ranked first in exports with an export value of about 2.28 trillion US dollars.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>That same report went on to indicate:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>The value of goods exported from China grew immensely between 2002 and 2014. In 2002, China\u2019s exports were valued at about 327 billion US dollars. China\u2019s export value grew to 2 trillion US dollars in 2012, the first year in which China exported more than 2 trillion US dollars worth of goods. Year over year export growth&nbsp;remained above 17 percent between 2002 and 2012, except in 2009 and 2012. In 2004, export value grew by over 35 percent. In 2011, China accounted for about 10% of global merchandise exports and about 4% of global service exports. &nbsp;China&#8217;s greatest export product categories in&nbsp;2011 was machinery and transport equipment, of which they exported 902 billion US dollars worth. In 2012, China exported 159 billion US dollars worth of clothes and clothing accessories.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>At the community level, Pro QC&#8217;s Tampa team attended the International Town Hall event hosted by the Tampa Bay Export Alliance. &nbsp;We&nbsp;heard from local leadership supporting trade initiatives throughout the region.
