Frank Lian, Quality Engineer & Auditor

Frank Lian has worked with Pro QC for over fourteen years and is currently a key contributor as senior Quality Engineer and Auditor in our Shenzhen, China office. Frank's primary responsibilities include ensuring our clients' suppliers meet or exceed their expectations, whether that means inspecting product for quality during and/or prior to shipment, or auditing the supplier. When it comes to auditing suppliers, Frank is trained to evaluate general quality management systems (QMS), in addition to performing social audits per the SA8000 or other applicable requirements. Over the years, Frank has provided clients with the information they need to make important decisions regarding specific shipments, or strategic decisions regarding social accountability or other stakeholder concerns. In addition to QMS-type audits, Frank also excels at evaluating processes to determine the root cause of issues. In this way, he assists clients with observations and recommendations for improvement, saving time and resources for our clients and their respective suppliers. When asked what he enjoys the most about working for Pro QC, Frank explains that as a quality professional, he enjoys "the process of finding truth, in addition to sharing different opinions and experiences with different people." He concludes by sharing "one can learn a lot from working in this industry." Frank attended college and majored in English. Prior to joining Pro QC, he worked as a Quality Assurance (QA) Technician at an IBM joint venture in Shenzhen that was producing personal computers and servers. When he's not inspecting product or auditing suppliers, Frank is a lifelong learner and enjoys taking courses via TED and/or other Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC). He also plays the Xiao, a traditional Chinese music instrument that resembles a vertical bamboo flute. Frank is very proud of his family, including his wife and two lovely daughters. Pro QC is fortunate to have individuals like Frank that have grown with the organization and play a key role in our ability to reduce risks and cost for our clients.
