The Pro QC team welcomes Thomas Kaiser as Pro QC’s General Manager based at our Shanghai office. Thomas joined Pro QC in March and is here to assist with continuing growth and development of business strategies that address current and future market challenges. We are excited to have him join us.
Early in his career, Thomas started a professional apprenticeship as an engineering fitter machinist for three years. In communications, he refers to “this practical experience as being helpful throughout the years.” Soon after, he studied mechanical engineering.
Thomas’ experience continues within the industrial sector where he worked with an organization manufacturing seals for power stations, nuclear power stations, etc. Within this organization, his experience spanned various fields such as R&D, Engineering & Sales, and Product Management. Taking production from Germany to a joint venture in China provided experience as Vice GM as well.
Later, Thomas joined one of the leading service providers in the field of testing, certification and inspection services in Shanghai and worked there for the last twelve years in different positions such as GM Products, Global Business Field Manager Life Cycle Management, and Director Retail Division. During this time, he setup and developed the retail business in Greater China in order to serve major retailers and discounters such as Carrefour, Aldi, Lidl, Metro, Wal-Mart, and The Home Depot.
When asked what he enjoys the most about working with Pro QC so far, he comments, “It is a pleasure to work with so many different nationalities together and find all kinds of expertise in different regions and countries.” Not surprising then, his family is equally diverse. Self-described as “patchwork,” Thomas has two children ages seven and twelve and comments, “It is amazing to watch them grow up experiencing the different cultures we are coming from. Communication is done according to individual preference in German, Mandarin, Shanghai dialect, English or a little bit from everything.”
When speaking of hobbies, he admits to being very busy since moving to China. However, he does enjoy spending time with his wife and children, working on his home, and the occasional game of tennis.
Thomas can be contacted directly at email@example.com, or through our Shanghai office at 86-21-5430-2520.
