We are often asked about laboratory testing capabilities and so we'll further expand on this topic to add value and enhance the understanding of our resources and testing procedures.

Pro QC's testing laboratory is located in Ningbo, China. Experienced engineers use applicable and regionally specific standards, such as ASTM, IEC or ANSI specifications, to conduct a variety of in-house and on-site testing.

We distinguish our offerings using the following primary service types:

Mechanical Testing
Electrical Testing
Special Testing
Environmental and Weathering Testing

While the information below is not an exhaustive list of our laboratory equipment and capabilities, it does include a highlight of our capabilities based on the four service types.

Mechanical Testing:

Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)

In-house or on-site, our fixed or portable CMMs measure the physical geometrical characteristics of an object for comparison to approved specifications. Evaluations include first article and first piece evaluation and critical dimensional profile measurements.

HRC (Rockwell) Surface Hardness Testing

Rockwell is a method of measuring the hardness of materials providing useful information about metallic materials that may correlate to tensile strength, wear resistance, ductility, and other physical characteristics. It is useful for selection of materials as well.

Wheel Abrasion Tester / Life Testing

Abrasion testing "determines the resistance of metallic materials to scratching abrasion by means of dry sand/rubber wheel test."

Life testing covers a laboratory procedure for evaluating the high-temperature life performance of wheel bearing greases when testing under prescribed conditions.

Electrical Testing:

Product Testing & Sample Collection

Samples are collected to evaluate insulation/leakage current. A hi-pot tester is often used.

Electric Power Tools and Home Appliances Testing

Power supply, temperature and sound level evaluations are conducted using various equipment and insulation resistance testing according to UL, CAN/CSA, and etc. specifications.

Special Testing:

X-Ray Florescence (XRF) Scanning

XRF scanning is used for heavy metal detection and lead content screening.

Paint Adhesion Testing

A cross-cut tool kit is used to measure adhesion. "These test methods are used to establish whether the adhesion of a coating to a substance is at generally adequate level."

Environmental and Weathering Testing:

Salt Spray

Standardized test method used to check corrosion resistance of coated samples. Neutral salt spray tests are generally conducted over 24, 48, 72 or 300 hour periods depending on the product and specific requirements.

Variable Temperature

A Digital Controlled Air-Circulating Oven and Freezer test high, dry and rapid changes in temperature. Hot and cold impact testing, thermal shock cycle testing and electrical connectors and sockets can be evaluated as well.
